History

Kerala was the first Indian state to introduce a government lottery in 1967, under the initiative of Finance Minister PK Kunju Sahib. The lottery was established to provide employment and generate revenue for the state. Today it generates over ₹10,000 Crore in annual sales and funds welfare programmes across the state.
